Our Therapeutic Approaches

We draw on evidence-based modalities and targeted intensive formats to create tailored treatment plans.
Below are the core approaches used across our signature programs and clinician matches:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

    • Skill-focused, structured interventions to identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Ideal for anxiety, depression, and performance-related patterns.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):

    • Informed Skills • Emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills for intense emotions, burnout, and relationship stress.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Values-driven work emphasizing psychological flexibility, committed action, and mindfulness to reduce avoidance and increase meaningful engagement.

  • Mindfulness-Based Interventions:

    • Practices and psychoeducation to build present-moment awareness, stress reduction, and improved attention—woven into many programs.

  • Family Systems & Developmental Interventions:

    • Systemic family therapy and developmentally appropriate strategies for children and adolescents; includes parent coaching and family sessions.

  • Measurement-Based Care & Outcome Tracking:

    • Regular symptom measures and progress reviews to guide treatment adjustments and demonstrate measurable change.

  • Collaborative Care & Medication Management Referrals:

    • Integrated coordination with primary care or psychiatry when medication or medical evaluation is indicated.

Payment Options

At Emotions Matter we prioritize care that fits your goals. We offer both private-pay and insurance-friendly pathways—but emphasize private-pay services for clients seeking a boutique, highly tailored experience and accelerated results.

Insurance Coverage

Several clinicians in the practice accept major insurance plans and can bill directly when appropriate.

  • Insurance is a good option for ongoing outpatient care when coverage is available and preferred.

  • If you use insurance, we’ll match you with a clinician who participates with your insurer and explain any limits or authorizations that may apply.

    Our accepted insurances include:

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

  • United Healthcare

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Avmed

  • Oscar (Optum)

  • HSA payments are also accepted

For questions about specific coverage, our team is happy to assist in verifying your benefits.

Private Pay Options

  • Concierge-level care:

    • Personalized treatment plans, flexible scheduling, longer or intensive session formats, and direct clinician access.

  • Greater privacy & flexibility:

    • We don’t bill insurance directly, so you keep control of what appears on your medical records and avoid limitations tied to insurance authorizations.

  • Payment options:

    • Lead Clinician - $200 for individual sessions (in-person), $180 (tele-health)

    • Associate Clinicians: $120 (tele-health only or in-person)
